LEAST CONCERN

The privet hawk-moth is one of Britain’s largest moths, with striking pink-and-black markings.

It flies at night, feeding on nectar from scented flowers such as honeysuckle.

Its bright green caterpillars feed on the leaves of privet, ash and lilac.

Protecting hedgerows and flower-rich gardens helps this gentle giant thrive.
