MEET the founder

Lizzie Barker - Founder & Director

Hello, I’m Lizzie.

I’ve always believed that the more we understand wildlife, the more we’ll want to protect it.

Creature Candy began with a simple idea: to create beautiful wildlife-inspired gifts that not only bring nature into our homes, but also inspire people to notice, appreciate and care for the incredible animals that share our world.

Every illustration starts with a love of wildlife. I spend countless hours learning about different species, from the familiar hedgehog in the garden to some of the world’s most endangered animals. I enjoy discovering what makes each creature unique and then transforming those stories into artwork, gifts and educational resources that people of all ages can enjoy.

As a mum of two, I know how important it is to inspire the next generation. That’s why Creature Candy isn’t just about homeware and gifts. It’s about helping children and adults alike to reconnect with nature through creativity, curiosity and conservation.

My hope is that every mug, print, notebook or activity pack becomes the beginning of someone’s own wildlife journey.

I’m incredibly proud that 10% of Creature Candy’s profits are donated to wildlife charities, helping to protect the animals that inspire every design.

Thank you so much for supporting my small business. Every order means more than you probably realise. Together we’re building a community of people who love wildlife, enjoy learning about nature and want to leave the world a little better than they found it.

Welcome to Creature Candy.

— Lizzie

“My dream is simple. I want more children to grow up knowing the names of the birds in their garden, more families to spend time outdoors together, and more people to fall in love with the wildlife that surrounds us every day. Because once we care, we protect.”

Jo Medlicott - Illustrator

Jo is the creator of all the wildlife illustrations that feature on Creature Candy’s products. Jo says:

“I am delighted to be a part of Creature Candy as I have long been a lover of animals and wildlife. From a small child I have always enjoyed drawing and sketching, especially animals, and I am thrilled that my illustrations are now helping to support and save many of the endangered species that are threatened within our beautiful country. I look forward to creating more designs and continuing to support British wildlife charities.”
