Alison Steadman is a British actress whose screen-acting credits range from ‘Abigail’s Party’ through ‘Pride and Prejudice’ to the incredibly popular ‘Gavin and Stacey’. She received the 1991 National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for the Mike Leigh film ‘Life Is Sweet’, and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Actress for her role as Mari in the original production of ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’. In a 2007 Channel 4 poll, the "50 Greatest Actors" voted for by other actors, she was ranked No. 42.

Alison has been interested in birds and wildlife since childhood. Birdwatching is one of her favourite ways to relax, she loves to watch the birds feeding in her garden and finds the sound of birdsong calming. If she were to be reincarnated as a bird, she would like to be a nuthatch! Alison proudly became an ambassador for London Wildlife Trust in 2016.

Alison has chosen to champion The Hedgehog, an unmistakable British creature. 100 signed A4 hedgehog prints are available, with 50% of the sale price donated to People’s Trust for Endangered Species.
