We have just started a new project to raise money for a new charity - Greenfingers. This is a brilliant charity that creates gardens for children in hospices, and provides places for them to spend time with their loved ones throughout their illnesses.
Our wildlife product of the month for September is our wildflower seedballs. September and October are the perfect months to plant wildflowers, so why not create a wildlife haven in your garden and provide a valuable source of food for bees, butterflies and moths next year!
We are delighted to announce that once again we have been shortlisted for the Country Homes & Interiors My Country Business Awards 2017, under the home accessory crafters and makers category. Bees for Development will be holding a Bee Garden Party in London on Thursday 29th June, which Creature Candy will be supporting by donating some of our products to help raise funds at the event.
Our continued donations to our six charities are only possible as a result of the purchases made by our customers and supporters, and for this we cannot thank you enough. One of our new designs is the lesser spotted woodpecker Dendrocopos minor. I'm sure some of you are not very familiar with this bird and that is one the main reasons we have chosen it for our new designs. To raise awareness and funds for it's much needed conservation.
As part of the launch of our three new designs on 8th April, we are also launching a photographic competition to raise awareness of these three declining British wildlife species - hedgehog, red squirrel and lesser spotted woodpecker..........
It's official, our new products will be launching on our website on Friday 8th April. You will be able to purchase mugs, tea towels, aprons, prints, notebooks, postcards and greeting cards with our new designs on - hedgehog, red squirrel and lesser spotted woodpecker.
Today we launch our very first crowdfunding scheme to help us raise funds to launch our new designs - hedgehog, red squirrel and lesser spotted woodpecker. We have not released these designs yet but today we would like to share them with you. We hope you like them as much as we do.
Today, a large wood pigeon flew into my patio window. I heard the bang from upstairs as I thought it was the postman knocking on the door. I went down to investigate, and found the poor bird sitting in a pile on the patio. My immediate reaction was to allow the bird time to gain its composure, and then it would undoubtably fly off none the wiser, apart from with a very bad headache. However, hours later and it was still sitting there with its features puffed up and its eyes closed. What was I to do?
